Ahlan Cup: Rivers United Thumps Kada City
Rivers United got off to a good start yesterday in the Ahlan Cup by beating Kada City Stars 2-0.
It took just twelve minutes before Malachi Ohawume scored and then Michael Enaruna made it 2-0 in the 60th minute.
Kada City coach, Danlami Kwasu told NigerianFootballer.com after the game that his team will do better after this game.
“I am not disappointed with the result,” Kwasu told NigerianFootballer.com.
“We lost but my boys gave their all. The weather contributed though I think the team can do better,” Kwasu said.
After the game, Michael Enaruna was voted Man of the Match by journalists present at the stadium.
Stanley Eguma who heads the Rivers United coaching crew described the game as a good start for his team in the tournament.
“It was an opportunity to see what the boys can do. It wasn’t an easy game but at least we were able to withstand the opposition,” Eguma told NigerianFootballer.com.
“We can do better than this but it is not time to start celebrating,. The team is still a work in progress.
After Sunday’s opening match which Kano Pillars lost 1-0 to Plateau United, four games were played on Monday.
