Rivers Wrestlers Intensify Preparations Ahead NYG
The Rivers State Wrestling Association says preparations are in top gear for the forthcoming National Youth Games (NYG) scheduled to hold September, this year in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Head Coach of the body, Eli Oyomonedi disclosed this yesterday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, preparations are going on and the team has progressed to a level and are now poised to showcase their God-given talents.
“No doubt we are set for the competition and we have some potential on ground who are ready and determined to win medals at the fiesta come next month in Ilorin,” Coach Oyomonedi said.
Meanwhile, the athletes are in high spirit and are set to represent the state to glory when the games eventually get underway.
He urged the athletes to stay fit and remain committed to the preparations on ground for the event as to enable them compete favourably with their counterparts in other parts of the country.
However, the team is now waiting for the ministry of sports for the final preparation in camp expected to hold this month in the state for athletes to further fortify themselves ahead of the competition which is scheduled to hold from 7-17 September.
