Nigeria will feature in 21 sports in the Games, scheduled for September 4 to September18.
Joseph said in Lagos that he had been working hard under the supervision of a seasoned coach to enable him achieve his dream.
“I believe that it is through hard work that I can be successful, that is the reason I started training since last year, so that I can have enough time to prepare.
“This determination contributed to my success at the 18th edition of the festival and I have always desired to go beyond silver medal in the AAG because I want to make my country proud,’’ he said.
The athlete, who excelled at the trials held at the National Stadium between July 6 and July 8, said that although it was his first time of going for continental Games, he was determined to excel.
Joseph said that he would not give room for intimidation by other competitive athletes who were familiar with sport.
He promised Nigerians that he would not come back to the country without a medal.
