Cameroon Soldiers Rescue Prime Minister’s Wife From Boko Haram
The Cameroonian Army had in a successful operation rescued the abducted wife of the country’s Vice Prime Minister, Amadou Ali, who was kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect on Sunday alongside a traditional ruler of Kolofata town.
According to our source, 16 people died during the rescue operations that lasted for several hours.
Although, Cameroon Information Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who disclosed the information, said government was investigating the matter to establish the actual number of those killed in the military clampdown and rescue operations, the abducted woman was successfully rescued.
The Tide recalls that suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Sunday kidnapped the wife of a senior Cameroonian minister and a traditional leader in attacks in the far north of the country.

The Head of Service (HoS) of Rivers State, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi S. I. Brown, has commended Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, for approving befitting accommodation for Permanent Secretaries in the state.

According to the Head of Service, Governor Fubara has continued to demonstrate uncommon commitment to the welfare of civil servants in Rivers State, stressing that such gestures underscore his people-oriented leadership style. As part of activities to mark the governor’s birthday, the Body of Permanent Secretaries announced the sponsorship of 329 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for indigent students across the state.
A breakdown of the initiative shows that 319 forms will be distributed across the 319 political wards in Rivers State, while five forms are allocated to non-indigenes and five forms to persons living with disabilities.
