Club Donates 5m To Support Children
A private sector partner, Fifthchukker Polo and Country Club has donated N5million to UNICEF for use in support of orphans and vulnerable children.
This is contained in a statement made available to The Tidesports source and signed by UNICEF’s Head of Media and External Relations, Mr Geoffrey Njoku on Tuesday in Abuja.
It stated that the Chairman of Fifthchukker, Alhaji Adamu Atta made the donation at a recent charity shield tournament in Kaduna State.
“Our support for UNICEF over the years stems from our commitment to give back to those mostly in need in Nigeria, especially children orphaned through HIV and AIDS,’’ Atta was quoted as saying in the statement.
The statement also noted that the Kaduna State Government had expressed concern over the rising cases of HIV in the state in spite of interventions.
