Cultism: Court Remands Man In Prison
A middle aged man, Mr. Princewill Udo was on Monday remanded in Port Harcourt Prison custody for alleged involvement in secret cult activities. He was remanded on the order of Senior Magistrate G.C. Amadi.
In a two-court charge brought against the accused, the prosecuting police officer, Inspector J. Amadi alleged that the accused and others still at large between 1998 and February 2011 at Mary Odili Street, Port Harcourt, conspired to commit felony on secret-cult activities.
He further alleged that the accused, Udo and others at large within the same period participated in secret cult activities called day-well, arguing that all the offences are punishable under Section 1 (1) and 10 (1) of Secret Cult and similar activities punishable laws No. 6 of Rivers State 2004.
Ruling on the matter, the Presiding Senior Magistrate, G.C. Amadi of Court 9 directed the registrar of the court to duplicate the original case file and send it to DPP for legal advice.
