Commissioner Harps On Hardwork, Commitment To Service
The Rivers State
Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, has said that hardwork and commitment are major ingredients for success in all human endeavors.
Mrs Semenitari said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, during a reception/unveiling of two books written by a director in the ministry, Mr Paulinus Nsirim, as part of activities marking the 50th birthday celebration of Mr Nsirim.
Mrs Semenitari said that the event would serve to inspire Rivers people to be diligent and committed to their various endeavours.
The commissioner also described the celebrant as a diligent man whose activities over the years had brought honour to the ministry and Rivers State in general.
Mrs Semenitari, who represented Governor Amaechi at the event donated the sum of N3 million on behalf of the governor.
Chairman of the occasion and former Attorney-General in the state, Barrister Frank Owhor, described the celebrant as a man with a deep sense of responsibility and an embodiment of humility.
Barrister Owhor said that even though the celebrant has clocked fifty years, his energies are still to be fully tapped.
Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State, Mr Opaka Dokubo, said that Mr Paulinus Nsirim has brought honour to the journalism profession.
According to him, Mr Nsirim who was a former chairman of the union in the state, has not only shown the importance of professionalism, but has also shown that journalists are men of honour in the society.
At a thanksgiving service, the regional pastor, Charismatic Renewal Ministries, Pastor Bon Achumba, said that those in position of authority must not forget their background and stressed that those who easily forget their roots were ingrate.
The man of God also urged total submission to God and commended the celebrant for acknowledging the work of God in his life.
In his testimony, the celebrant, Mr Paulinus Nsirim described himself as a trophy of grace, stressing that God had been kind and gracious to him right from his childhood.
Nsirim also paid glowing tributes to his mother and others who God used as instruments to uplift him.
