New Apapa Customs Boss Tours Units
The new Customs Area Controllers of the Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Eporwei Edike, recently toured the various seats, units, sheds and terminals under his command, and canvassed for dedication, diligence and alertness from officers and men of the command.
He told officers and men that the familiarization tour was to enable him see things for himself and make on the spot assessment and challenges.
Among the places visited include Sapid bounded terminal Mile 2, Sifax Enforcement and others.
During his tour, he emphasized commitment to work, punctuality and humaneness of officers and men, urging them to handle with dispatch their assignments to ensure the speedy clearance of goods at the port.
On revenue generation, Comptroller Edike acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Area Command, saying that the Comptroller General expected a high level of efficiency and improvement on past performances of command.
He therefore enjoined the officers and men to ensure that the command exceeds its revenue target for the year. He however, warned them against fraudulent activities which could tarnish the good image of the area command.
He was accompanied on the tour by the Public Relations Officer of the area command, Mr Emmanuel Ekpa, a Chief Superintendent of Custom (CSC).
