PDP Crisis: Nwator Sues For Peace
The former Special Adviser on Religion Affairs to the former Governor of Rivers State, Bishop (Dr.) Friday Nwator has sued for peace among the parties involve in the current crisis rocking the peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Rivers State.
Bishop (Dr.) Nwator who said this at a Press briefing in Port Harcourt said that the on-going crisis is capable of derailing development in the state as well as Jeopordise its existing peace. “I want all the people involve in this crisis to know that Rivers State is important to us and it will not be good if we destroy it because we don’t have any other state to go to”.
According to the Clergy man who is also the founding President of International integrity Bishops College and faithful Ministers would Network, this crisis is capable of returning the state to the horrible era of violence and lawlessness.
He also said that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi remains the Governor of Rivers State, having been duly elected by the people, hence he should be respected by all.
In his words; “it is God that gives power to whoever he wants, therefore anybody antagonizing Governor Amaechi is antagonizing God who gave him the power and so it is with any other person that God gives power.
“As a foremost elder statesman in Rivers State and Nigeria and an international Bishop recognized by the Queen of England and the Government of the United States of America, I am a father to all the parties involved in this crisis” Bishop Nwator said.
The former Special Adviser also urged for the intervention of Ogbakor Ikwerre and Ekpeye Kingdom with the view to calling their sons involved in the crisis to order.
The Clergyman also urged President Jonathan and Governor Amaechi to sheath their sword in the interest of the South South and the Nigeria ntion.
