NACCIMA Tasks Manufacturers On Products Packaging
The National President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Mr Ademola Ajayi, has advised local manufacturers to improve on their product packaging to make them globally competitive.
Ajayi gave the advice in his address at the opening of the ECOWAS-Turkey Export Products Exhibition in Lagos recently.
He said that Nigerian manufacturers should catch up with their Turkish counterparts who have mastered the act of packaging goods attractively.
“If Garri and some other Nigerian staple foods are attractively packaged they will easily become popular in other markets.
“We believe that this event most importantly will improve on our products’ packaging and the sharing of ideas even in other areas of product marketing.
“What we want in the end is for the balance of trade to favour us and for us to know about other innovations in business,” he said.
Ajayi called on the Turkish exhibitors to ensure that they “increase their trading relations and cooperation“ with Nigerians.
“Such partnership in trade will be in the favour of both Nigeria and Turkey, “ he said.
Ajayi said that Turkish businessmen could use the abundant raw materials in Nigeria to produce their goods and invest more in other areas of the nation’s economy.
Our reports that a total of 110 exhibitors are participating at the exhibition.
A wide range of consumer and industrial products are being exhibited at the fair.
