Youth Leader Tasks ICT Beneficiaries On Commitment
The 101 beneficiaries of Etche Local Government Council Information and Communication Technology (ICT), have been tasked to show a level of commitment that will project their ICT knowledge.
The coordinator of the project, Comrade Precious Dike made the remark during the graduation ceremony of the 101 beneficiaries at Okehi, the Headquarters of Etche Local Government council recently.
He said if the ICT granduands could utilise the opportunity given them by the council, that if will bring about development in the society.
Dike who also is the chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Etche chapter, maintained that it beneficiaries should guard the starter packs given them with care in order to encourage the council leadership for more actions.
He said the use of Information Technology (IT) had proved that the world was a global village, while calling on them to drive their future as leaders of tomorrow.
The youth leader noted that ICT was not expanding at the expected rate, its presence ought to have been felt in all communities of the country.
He pointed out that it was difficult now for any ICT illiterate to function well in any office or trade, saying that people should avail themselves of the opportunity to be trained in ICT development.
He cautioned against any form of laxity from the ICT graduands as it will amount to wastage on the council’s part.
Meanwhile, he has lauded the Etche council chairman, Hon Reginald Ukwuoma over his determination to ensure that the beneficiaries were empowered with the starter packs.
Also, the beneficiaries, promised to make best use of the items given them, as they prayed God to guide and protect the council and its chairman.
