NIPOST Taking Steps To Improve Services – Manager
The Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) says it is adopting new strategies to be better positioned to provide improved services to Nigerians.
Mr. Dauda Musa, the Bauchi-Gombe Area Postal Manager, made this known in an interview with The Tide on Tuesday in Bauchi.
Musa said that part of the strategies was to complement the services offered by the new media in terms of delivering the physical consequences of the deals struck in the new communication systems.
“When a deal is reached through the use of the GSM and time comes for its deliverance, it cannot be done through phone. This is where the NIPOST comes in.
“We connect the physical transaction with the business already done on phone.”
Musa said the revenue profile of the Bauchi –Gombe territory had increased since it embraced new ways of doing business in the organisation.
“We are engaged in the delivery of Hajj cargo. They send their cargoes through us and we have been delivering it for the past three years.
“No hitch whatsoever, not a single missing items or obstruction.
“Corpers who served in the state after their service year, they want to go back to their various places most of them will take flight but they have acquired personal items and they come to us we send it to them.
“People on transfer to other parts of the country approach us and we move the whole household cargo they have. We have been doing that for quite sometimes now with success”.
According to Musa, NIPOST also engages in corporate service delivery for the GSM operators who need to transfer a large quanetity of materials across the country.
Musa further stated that these have contributed to the success of NIPOST.
