Recharge Card Increment: Subscribers Cry Foul
Subscribers have cried out following the recent increment in airtime by 10 and 20 percent.
A subscriber, Sample Horsfall said that the increment is mere wickedness by recharge card dealers.
Horsfall who was unhappy with the development, called for an investigation into the matter, saying that dealers should not run their business at the expence of the public.
Others who spoke with The Tide linked the situation to the Yeletide season, pointing out that prices of everything in the market rose above normal price.
The Tide investigation revealed that N200 recharge card appreciated by 20 percent N220) while N100 recharge card appreciated by 10 per cent (110) hinting that it is applicable to all networks.
Some subscribers also called for monitoring of the recharge card and other business operators in the country who fixed prices at will.
They blamed the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) over its inability to protect subscribers during the Christmas season, adding that they (NCC) should intervene before the year runs off.
Meanwhile, paid calls at Public call centres remain N20 per minute at all networks.
They (subscribers) also admitted a high level of disbalance the situation has caused them, but remained excited by the provision of Mobile networks in the country.
