The Defense Headquarters (DHQ) has dismissed a report that alleges the demise of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa.
A report had claimed that the Defence Chief had passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023.
However, in a statement issued by Director of Defence, Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, yesterday, the DHQ has clarified that the Defence Chief is alive and well.
Gusau also mentioned that the platform responsible for publishing the story about General Musa’s death has retracted the article and expressed apologies to the CDS, his family, and the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The statement reads: “The attention of the Defence Headquarters has been drawn to an unfortunate publication by an online newspaper alleging that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa passed away yesterday.
“The report is unfortunate, unethical and lacks credibility.
“To put the records straight the CDS, General CG Musa is alive and hearty. The Chief of Defence Staff who just returned from an official assignment outside the country has resumed work with more vigour to continue with his uncommon leadership style to prosper the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
“The online newspaper has since retracted the news story and offered its unreserved apology to the CDS, his family and the Armed Forces of Nigeria”.

HoS Hails Fubara Over Provision of Accommodation for Permanent Secretaries

The Head of Service (HoS) of Rivers State, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi S. I. Brown, has commended Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, for approving befitting accommodation for Permanent Secretaries in the state.

According to the Head of Service, Governor Fubara has continued to demonstrate uncommon commitment to the welfare of civil servants in Rivers State, stressing that such gestures underscore his people-oriented leadership style.
