Go Extra Mile In Your Prayers For Rivers, Fubara Tells Wailing Women
The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has commended the Wailing Women Worldwide for propagating the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Fubara stated this during the 23rd International Women’s Prayer and Leadership Conference and Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Wailing Women Worldwide at the City of Refuge, Abara-Etche in Etche Local Government Area, yesterday.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Prof Ngozi Nma Odu, noted that Our Lord Jesus Christ has given us an assignment to pray without ceasing and the Wailing Women Worldwide, also known as Women Intercessors for the Church and the Nations have continued to do that
with utmost commitment.
“They have prayed beyond their households, beyond their cities, beyond their states. They have spread their tentacles to over 100 countries in the world and still counting”, Fubara stressed.
The State Chief Executive said the location of the City of Refuge in Abara-Etche was not by accident but by Divine direction, noting that it would serve as a fortress for Christians across the globe.
“I urge you to continue to uphold the Government of Rivers State in your prayers, even as you uphold the government of all nations, but because the City of Refuge is here, go the extra mile, and pray for us that God will give us Divine direction in everything we do and in every
the decision we take”, the governor noted.
In her address, the International Coordinator, Wailing Women Worldwide, Dr Laide Okafor, said the move of Wailing Women Worldwide was a phenomenon and an extraordinary move of God birthed by the Holy Spirit on the 8th and 9th of May, 1998, adding that the Almighty God had been building a formidable non-denominational, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and detribalised army of believers from all works of life to accomplish a good design in God’s master plan.
Apostle Emmanuel Kure of the Throne-room Trust Ministry in Kaduna, presented a keynote address on the theme, “Our God Reigns”, drawn from Psalm 146:10.
Dignitaries at the conference included wife of the Bayelsa State Governor, Dr Gloria Diri; wife of Edo State Governor, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki; as well as wife of Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; who was represented by Mrs Maureen Okpara.
