Rivers ICT Students Return From Overseas Training
About 16 students of Rivers State origin who undertook post-graduate courses in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) at Teeside University, United Kingdom have returned to Nigeria.
The 16 students were among 47 other students sponsored by the Rivers State Government for overseas Master Degree Programmes through the Rivers State Scholarship Board.
Apart from undertaking courses in ICT, the students also undertook courses in other fields such as Oil and Gas and Engineering.
The Chairman of the board, Dr. Elechi Amadi who received the students said that the development was an indication of the realisation of Governor Amaechi’s vision of Developing a solid manpower base for the state. Dr Amadi said that the returning student have made the state proud.
The Board Chairman who was represented by the Board’s secretary, Mr. Samuel Deckue expressed satisfaction that the student had successfully completed their programme.
According to him, the Master Degree Graduate of Teeside University has made the state proud as they passed with Distinction and credits at their chosen field.
He also commended the students for their hard work and perseverance even in the face of challenges.
The spokesman of the team Mr. Beabu Kiasira Pigbo thanked the Rivers State Government and the scholarship Board for sponsoring their programe, abroad.
