He said government would continue to support the police in the discharge of its constitutional responsibility of maintaining law and order as well as protection of lives and property.
Sambo expressed concern over the purchase of 75,000 units of mobile communication hand held equipment from Motorola by the Nigeria Police without corresponding infrastructural support for such equipment.
He assured the management of Motorola that its proposal for ensuring nationwide network communication system and CCTV system for the police was receiving attention.
Sambo further expressed the determination of the Federal Government to address infrastructural deficits in the country by identifying and tackling them adequately.
In his remarks, Dick said Motorola had been in Nigeria for more than 45 years and had been doing business with the police.
He stated that his company was increasing its presence in Nigeria by opening two more offices in Abuja and Lagos. Dick further said the vice president was in a vantage position to appreciate the company’s detailed security communications equipment proposal for addressing the security challenges facing the country.
