A Commissioner-nominee and former Commissioner for Housing in Rivers State, Mr Marshall Uwom, has promised to go extra-miles to ensure sustainable development of the state, if sworn- in as commissioner.
Mr Uwom made the promise Tuesday in an interview with journalists after his screening at the state House of Assembly in Port Harcourt.
Mr Uwom who recalled his performance as former Commissioner for Housing in the development of the sector in the state said he would put in more effort to ensure sustainable development, irrespective of the portfolio assigned to him.
“Am ready to render selfless service as I did previously to the development of the state.
“I have more plans this time around, to do more for the development of the state, irrespective of the portfolio assigned to me”, Mr Uwom explained.
Another nominee, Chuma Chinenye during his chat with newsmen said, his focus would be to ensure remarkable changes for better living condition in the state.
He said, his services if sworn-in as commissioner would be in line with Governor Amaechi’s agenda and policies.
He used the opportunity to urge Rivers people to support the state government to ensure sustainable developmental projects and programmes for the state.
He noted that, no society could grow if everything was left in the hands of government alone.
He also promised to operate open door policy, where every citizen of the state would contribute ideas that would take the state to greater heights, if sworn-in as a commissioner.
