FPN Tasks FG On Border Security
The Rivers State Chairman of Freedom Party of Nigeria (FPN), Mr. Magnus Elendu has appeal to Federal Government to strengthen its security network at the border areas of the country in order to prevent incessant Bomb blast in different parts of the country.
Mr. Elendu made the call over the Weekend while speaking with newsmen in Port Hacourt.
He alleged that some people sneak into Nigeria with explosive devices through the borders due to what he described as inadequate security in the areas, stressing that for any country to grow, there was urgent need to efficiently and effectively secure the border in order to protect lives and properties of the citizenery.
The FPN chieftain lamented that people were no longer safe in Nigeria as a result of the recent bombing in some parts of the country, adding that the development led to lost of several lives and properties worth millions of Naira while calling on the federal government to adequately equip the security agencies at the borders and other parts of the country to guarantee safety of lives of the people.
On environmental issues, the Party Chairman advised the government and its agencies to give proper attention to climate change, environmental pollution and depletion of Ozone layer in the country, especially Rivers State, as this affects the health of the people.
Speaking on poverty in the country he said his party was committed to fighting poverty if given the opportunity through empowerment of less privileged in the society, adding that the FPN would provide Micro-credit scheme and organise seminars and workshops for the people.
He hinted that the party would educate the people on how to create wealth for themselves though skills acquisition and entrepreneurial training, to be self-reliant, as well as embarking on agricultural programme for rural dwellers.
He said that his party would always partner with government agencies and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to actualize these goals.
