LG Boss Charges Councillors On Team Work
Councillors of Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State have been advised to embrace team work to ensure performance for the sustenance of good governance to the people of the area.
The advice was handed down by the Council Chairman, Hon. John Nnamdi Anucha while swearing-in the 10 councillors, the Vice Chairman Hon. Lucky Ngozi Nweke, the Council Secretary, Hon. Uche Nwafor and Chief of Staff Chief Kingsley Anucha at the council secretariat last Thursday at Eberi.
Hon. Anucha enjoined them to be sincere, committed and transparent in the task of making bye-laws for the development of the area, stressing the need for the councillors to be obedient and co-operative with each other and avoid deceit in order to achieve set objectives.
The oath of office and of allegiance, was administered on the officers by the Chief Magistrate of Omuma Magisterial District, Mr. Berembo Gogo.
Our correspondent reports that the councillors later went into their Chambers for the business of the day by electing the house officers.
Hon. Chinwedu Nwekeala was elected the Leader of the House, Anthony Nwannirinim elected deputy leader while Hon. Ubani Godson Chima was elected the Chief Whip.
