Rivers Health College Seeks Govt Support For Accreditation

The Rivers State College of Health Science and Management Technology, Rumueme, Port Harcourt is seeking the support of the Rivers State Government to enable it attain full accreditation for some courses and departments by the relevant accrediting bodies.
Provost of the College, Prof Franklin Nlerum made the appeal, recently, during the second Orientation/Oath taking ceremony for the 2018/2019 Dispensing Optician Graduands held at the College premises.
Prof Nlerum said the college got an interim accreditation status for the Department of Dispensing Opticians through the utilization of its Internally Generated Revenue, and would be gladdened if the Rivers State Government could swiftly move to support the Institution get full accreditation status for the department and other courses now required.
The Provost, while acknowledging the support and huge investment of the present administration in the State, under the visionary leadership of Chief Nyesom Wike, in the education and health sectors, charged the graduands to always remain good ambassadors of the college, put into practice what they have learnt so far and apply due diligence on duty.
He said the induction ceremony was to allow the students go on internship, after which they could practice on their own as professionals when they receive the complete licence to do so.
