Guber Candidate Promises To Banish Poverty, If …
The gubernatorial candidate for Action Congress of Nigeria in Akwa Ibom State, Senator John James Udoedehe has promised to turn every indigene of the state into a potential millionaire if voted into power, saying the monthly allocation to the state is more than enough, to put food on everybody’s table.
Udoedehe, who spoke soon after he was proclaimed the flag bearer of Action Congress of Nigeria in the primaries he contested as a sole candidate for the forth-coming governorship race in April, also promised to banish insecurity in the state.
The ACN candidate, who was the campaign manager of Governor Akpabio in 2007, assured the people that he will single handedly remove Akpabio since he was the one who installed him in 2007.
The former Minister of State for Federal Capital, who indirectly admitted the electoral fraud perpetrated by him to install chief Akpabio as the State Governor in 2007, assured that Governor Akpabio will not get such a chance again.
Consequently, he urged the party’s faithful to troop out en masse and register in the ongoing voter registration in order to exercise their franchise.
In the same vein, he assured the entire electorate that no one will be allowed to tamper with the Direct Data Capture (DDC) machine in favour of any particular candidate.
He congratulated the people for coming out to vote without being induced, adding that his emergence which will culminate into being sworn in as the next governor of the state in May, will mark a major milestone in the political history of Akwa Ibom State.
He narrated his encounter with governor Akpabio over the past two years as a result of his refusal to be bought over.
“Those who know me know that when I believe in a cause it is not easy for any one to take me out of it,” he said.
A total of 1,046 votes were cast by delegates across the thirty one local governments areas of Akwa Ibom State. At the end, 20 votes were voided.
Senator John J. Udoedehe polled a total of one thousand and twenty six votes to emerge the ACN candidate for the 2011 general election in the primaries.
