‘Women, Key To Successful Marriages’
Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi says women hold the key to the success of marriages in the society, and should therefore be treated with love and care.
Governor Amaechi, who gave the advice at the solemnisation of Holy Matrimony between former Miss Ibimina and Mr. Tekena Iyalla, a popular comedian in Port Harcourt, said the best anybody can do for married couples is to pray to God to keep their marriage.The Governor explained that the success or failure of any marriage, after God, rests in the hands of the women, noting that if she wants it to work it would work.
He urged the husbands not to take their wives for granted, but to continually show them love, while the women should respect their husbands.
“In marriage, no advice is best because every marriage is peculiar”, Governor Amaechi declared, emphasizing that men should regard their wives as everything and must listen to them, noting that no two marriage is the same.
The state Chief Executive pointed out that if there are mistakes which the men has take for granted, only the women can forgive in the interest of the marriage, noting that the best he can do was to join them in prayers.
Governor Amaechi also said women must understand the kind of jobs that their husbands for survival, stressing that she must be understanding.
The wedding witnessed a lot of comedy performances and musicals by Port Harcourt based artists.
