Rivers Lawmaker Urges Youths To Shun Vices
Ahead of the 2019 general elections in the country, youths have been urged to shun electoral violence, kidnapping and armed robbery, but embrace a non violence approach in making the society a better place.
The lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Constituency 2, in Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Tonye Smart Adoki stated at the Assembly Complex shortly after a courtesy visit by the Leadership of Forward Rivers Movement, FRM, a Non Governmental Organization NGO, geared towards propagating peace, unity and a non violent approach to youths of the state.
Adoki said as a youth and a lawmaker his aim was to make sure he convinced the youths to stay away from crimes, kidnapping and armed robbery.
The lawmaker thanked the group for the award bestowed on him as the most outstanding Rivers Legislator for his contribution towards peace building and a non violet approach in handling issues in the state.
He said, as a member of FRM over the years, the group had sensitised many Rivers youths on a non violent approach to life..
The legislator also commended the group, for preaching peace across the communities in the state urging the youths to shun electoral violence before, during and after the 2019 elections, but vote wisely on candidates of their choice.
