62 NDU Students Get Lawmaker’s Scholarship
The Commissioner for Education in Bayelsa State, Chief Josephine Ezonbodor, has reiterated the intention of the state government to improve the education sector in order to make it more service- oriented.
Chief Ezonbodor stated this in Yenagoa at the awards of scholarships to 62 under graduate students of the Niger Delta University by the lawmaker representing Nembe constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Jonathan Obuebite.
Chief Ezonbodor, said towards this end the state government would continue to encourage private individuals and groups to complement the efforts being made to rebuild the education system in the state.
The Commissioner, who expressed the commitment of the present administration to give the youth a better future, further said provision of a quality education was the fastest way to develop any economy.
She challenged the beneficiaries to justify the huge investments by being serious with their academics and ensure they graduate with good grades as to contribute to the development of the state.
She thanked the lawmaker for the promotion of education in his constituency and urged others to emulate the gesture.
