NFF Set To Discipline Coach Howard
The chief coach of UNICEM Rovers, Franklin Howard would face disciplinary actions from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after refusing to attend post match briefing, after his side lost 2-1 to Niger Tornadoes in the group stages.
The representative of the Nigeria football Federation, NFF, and co-ordinator of the Port Harcourt centre of the Federation Cup, Ayo Rahaman disclosed this during the post match briefing at the Sharks Football club stadium.
According to him, the disciplinary committee will meet and decide the disciplinary measures that will be noted out to him.
“No single man is bigger than an organisation, I believe that we would be suspended, this will serve as a deterrant to other coaches and players that exhibits indiscipline.
“That he lost a match will not make him to behave any how. The suspension will commence as soon as the committee meets” we said.
The co-ordinator advised coaches to obey the rules and regulations of NFF, because that will make the organisation to maintain its respect.
Rahaman expressed sadness over the incessant display of arrogance by coaches.
“Coaches who are supposed to show good example to players are the people misbehaving.”
In his reaction later FranklinHoward said he was not told that there will be a post match briefing.
“I have lift before, I was called that there was post match briefing, even at that I still came back, but unfortunately, when I came it was over,” he said.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tidesports shortly after Kwara United bent Kaduna United 1-0, the chief United Justin Tenger commended both teams as they put on impressive performances.
“I like the standard of play, it was like a true premiership game.”
The chief coach of Kaduna United, Julius Alhassan also commended both teams, saying that the officiating was above average.
Alhassan, urged referees to maintain the standard so that premiership matches would not have problems in terms of officiating.
