RSUST VC Vow To Promote ICT

ers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Prof Barineme B. Fakae, has said that he would continue to promote Information and Communication Technology (ICT) appreciation among his students.
He said this during the 34th matriculation ceremony of the school recently in Port Harcourt.
Fakae, noted that since most part of the world has gone digital, the best thing was to encourage same system among the students.
The RSUST boss, noted that the reason of giving out laptop to the best parforming students of each faculty was not only to salute their academic prowess, but to pave way for them in ICT development.
He was of the view that his school will continue to initiate programmes that will concretise the ICT knowledge and skill built among the students.
He also charged the beneficiaries to make best use of the item in order not to defeat the aim.
The Tide gathered that RSUST VC has given out over 30 laptops to the best performing students each academic year since he mounted the saddle of leadership of the university.
Some of the beneficiaries have expressed delight to Fakae over the laptop donation and assured proper utilisation of the items.
One of them, in Law Faculty, Mr Chimankpa Nwanyanwu said it was a platform for students’ encouragement over their studies.
Earlier, he had promised to work harder in order to promote the image of the school.
