Qatar 2022: Nigerians Sad Over S’Eagles Absence
Some Nigerians have expressed sadness over the absence of Nigeria Super Eagles at the ongoing World Cup holding in Qatar.
The Super Eagles were eliminated by Ghana via away goal advantage as they played 1-1 in the final leg of the qualifier in Nigeria after playing goalless in Ghana.
The African continent went to the World’s biggest football fiesta with five representatives, African champions Senegal, Ghana, Morocco, Cameroon and Tunisia.
In his reaction, Head coach of Tama Blessing Football Academy of Port Harcourt, Tama Isaac, said he is disappointed watching the competition without Super Eagles.
According to him, he feels bad because a tournament of this kind should have Nigeria as one of the participants.
“I am supposed to be watching my darling team (Super Eagles) at the World Cup in Qatar but they failed to qualify and I am watching the competition without them, I feel really bad,” Isaac said.
Abaji Osita, a business man, said he is also not happy watching the World Cup without Super Eagles.
“ I think Super Eagles did not do well by allowing themselves to be edged out by Ghana in their last qualifying game.
“The tournament would have been more exciting with the Eagles because many countries were looking out for the Super Eagles,” he said.
Reacting, a grassroots footballer, Obasi John, said he was really feeling bad watching World Cup without Eagles, wondering how he would be clapping hands for other countries.
