Andoni Unity Carnival Kicks Off With Carol Of Nine Lessons
The long awaited Andoni unity festival and carnival has kicked off with the carol of nine lessons held recently at Ngo town, amidst enthusiasm, excitement and funfair. The historic event which comes on the heels of ancient town was conceived by the Andoni council Chairman, Erastus Charles Awortu, Esq.
In his remark at the event, the council boss described the event as a unifying factor and a consolidation of the gains made by his administration in the areas of peace and security. He stressed that the unity carnival was also borne out of the need to showcase the hidden tourism potential of Andoni to the world with a view to attract potential investors and grow the local economy for the sustainable development of Andoni.
The chairman therefore, called on tourists, promoters of tourism as well as investors to visit Andoni to have a mesmerising experience with the rich wildlife and Atlantic Coast of Andoni that is akin to the most attractive tourist destinations of the world.
Awortu disclosed that on the 30th of December, 2021 the boat Regatta would be held, to be followed by the subsequent events on the 3rd, 4th and climax on the 5th of January 2022 as he assured visitors to the town of a swell time. He called on all sons and daughters of Andoni, regardless of party affiliations and difference to join hands with his administration in the development of Andoni as governance is a collective responsibility.
The Andoni local government boss commended the executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Wike, for his sustained support towards the advancement of the cause of Andoni, thereby making the area liveable and prosperous. He also expressed gratitude to the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Friday Eboka and other security operatives in the state and Andoni local government for being instrumental to the prevailing peace and stability in Andoni.
The council boss, in the same vein lauded the Andoni Council of Traditional Rulers and the Chairman of Andoni Traditional Rulers Council, the Okaan-Ama of Ngo, HRM, King (Dr) Aaron Miller, Ikuru (VII) for their contributions and support in moving Andoni forward to the next level of peace and development under his watch.

They Booed, Threw Bottles At Me – Tems Recounts
R&B star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has recounted the early-career challenges she faced, revealing that she was once booed out of the stage while performing at a school event.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen, the Crazy Tings crooner shared that she wasn’t only booed but was also harassed with plastic bottles.
“I remember one time I was going to perform at my school as an up-and-coming singer and I thought I was going to receiving a standing ovation.
“But I got booed. They even threw plastic bottles at me,” she recalled.
Tems explained that despite the embarrassing incident and other such rejections, she remained determined to pursue a career in music.
The Tide Entertainment reports that Tems admitted that some of the initial rejections she faced could be due to her conviction to stick to her originality instead of doing covers or familiar sounds like most of her peers.
The Grammy-winning singer said looking back now, she is glad that she didn’t compromise her style despite the initial pressures.

Primeboy Pleads For Mohbad’s Burial
A close associate of late singer Mohbad, Primeboy, has appealed for the artiste’s burial nearly three years after his death.
According to him, Mohbad’s body remains in the mortuary since September 12, 2023, pending burial arrangements.
The Tide Entertainment reports that in a statement Primeboy urged the family, public, and government to permit the burial, stating, “It’s been almost three years since Mohbad left us. His body is still in the mortuary. I’m begging the family, I’m begging the public, I’m begging the government, please let’s bury our brother. He deserves a befitting burial.”
It would be recalled that Mohbad’s death sparked public outrage, protests, and investigations. Ongoing autopsy examinations, police inquiries, and legal proceedings have delayed burial arrangements amid family disagreements and public scrutiny.
