Non-State Actors Applaud SEEFOR Project
The needs for youths to be adequately trained in vocational and technical skills have been identified as a pre-requisite for the development of any nation.
This was disclosed at the passing-out/award giving ceremony of a SEEFOR pre-skilled training programme by the Managing Director, Dolphin Integrated Service, Sir Igochukwu Azubuike, in partnership with SEEFOR project in the training of youths in welding and fabrication.
Azubuike reiterated the importance of welding and other vocational skills in every aspect of human endeavours and charged the trainees to be focused in their trade and work hard to fill the deficit in the welding industry.
He commended the SEEFOR Project for partnering with his organisation and other non-state actors to train youths in various skills that would keep them from social vices.
Addressing the youths, the SEEFOR Project Coordinator, Mr Kelcious Amos who was represented by the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Mr Felix Praise said the SEEFOR-sponsored training was geared at creating employment opportunities for the youths through partnership with non-governmental institutions in training of youths in various skills. He explained that the welding and fabrication trainees were admitted in two categories of three months for the pre-skilled youths, which include those who already have background knowledge in the trade, while six months was for those who were notice to the trade.
Mr Praise commended the youths for their level of commitment during the training and applauded their group works which were on exhibition at the event.
