Media Operator Charges RSG On ICT Dev
The Rivers State Government, has been called upon to show more commitment towards Information and Communication Technology (ICT), in order to enhance development in all sectors.
The Managing Director of Afro Media Technology, Mr Tunde Godwin, made the call in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Wednesday.
He said that, ICT was a catalyst in everything that has to do with development.
Godwin noted that, the ICT sector has brought noticeable development in the state, hence the need to spread it across all sectors.
According to him, it would engender a diversified economy in the state.
Furthermore, he said that through the use of ICT, many international practices towards development would be localized.
To buttress his point, he hinted that, the successive penetration of the home movies into the country was aided by ICT.
He was of the view that such huge record would have been counter-productive without the use of the ICT tools.
The media merchant, also called on the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), to partner with states that have quest for ICT growth.
While rating the Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration high on ICT development, he said, more efforts should be put in place, so as to make the state an ICT hub of the federation.
