Elevation Of RIVCAS Staff Elates Provost
The Acting Provost of the
Rivers State College of Arts Dr Samuel K. Kalagbor has described the elevation of a staff of the college, Dr Isaac V. Olori to the International Director of Greater Evangelism world crusade as a good thing for the college and the entire Rivers State.
Kalagbor, who said this at a reception organised in honour of Olori by the RIVCAS Staff fellowship, said that both the College and the entire Rivers Community have benefitted and are still benefitting from the spiritual exploits of the international director.
The Provost further said that the elevation of Olori as an international director of the Church was an indication that RIVCAS has come a long way in the production of quality manpower for the society and stressed the need for the change of the college’s name to reflect its status as a polytechnic in the state.
He said that the reception was a way of showing appreciation to God and to honour one of the members of the fellowship.
According to him, the reception was also a demonstration that RIVCAS has produced men and women who have distinguished themselves in the society.
In his speech, the International Director of Greater Evangelism World Crusade , Dr Isaac V. Olori said that he was humbled by the honour done to him.
Olori also harped on the need for the renaming of the institution uphold the tenents of Polytechnic, pointing out that this was necessary as the college now awards both the national and the Higher National Diplomas.
According to him, the renaming of the college to the Port Harcourt Polytechnic would bring a lot of blessings not only to the college community but the entire Rivers State. He, however, commended the fellowship for the honour done to him.
Earlier in an exclusive interview with The Tide, Chairman of the Fellowship Committee Mrs Mildred Weje said that the event was to thank God for the elevation of one of their own to an enviable position in the vineyard of God.
