Non-indigenes in Rivers
State have given Kudos to Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his disposition in state matters and developmental strides.
Leader of non-indigenes and commissioner designate in the state, Emeka Onowu stated the stand of non-indigenes on Governor Wike last Friday while speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) peace rally at Rumuola.
The PDP chieftains and teaming supporters, all clad in white attires who began the peace rally at the party’s secretariat along Aba road, rounded it off at the premises of the Rivers College of Arts and Science, Rumuola.
Ononwu said contrary to claims by the All Progress Congress that Governor Wike would send packing non-indigenes in the state has rather accommodated non-indigenes in all his inclusive government.
Apart from allocating commissioner position to non-indigenes, Onowu said Governor Wike has also given opportunities for them to be part of some CareTaker Committees of local government councils.
He described the all-inclusive policy of Governor Wike’s government as the new sociology of politics and called on all Rivers people, including the non-indigenes to give the needed support in the efforts of Wike’s government to reform and reposition the state for good.
He paid glowing tribute to the developmental strides of the present government and was optimistic that Governor Wike, without further distractions, would put Rivers State on a new map of development.
