Preacher, Wife Bag Peace Award
A renown preacher in the
South-South, Rev Stephen Odede, was honoured along with his wife Dr Mrs Scholar Odede, by the International Organisation of Advocates for Global Peace and Development (IOAGPD).
The man of God and the wife received the Award at the Liberation Power Ministries Elioparanwo, Port Harcourt on 19th July, 2015 by His-Excellency, Amb. Per Stafsen, President Governing Council of the organisation.
In his opening remark, the chairman of the occasion, Amb. Dr Prosperity Udoji, stated that Rev Stephen Odede and Dr Mrs Scholar Odede were selected from over ten nominations because of his outstanding disposition to maintaining peace in the Niger Delta through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He stated that Rev Odede and the wife has over the years assisted the less privilege, especially students to pursue their education.
Udoji, who is also the presiding Bishop of Holding Faith Internationa Church, Senegal Liberia, said because of their track record in the Christian faith and their love for mankind.
The Bishop explained that the award bestowed on Rev Odede and the wife coincided with the Nelson Mandela International Day set aside by the United Nations in honour of Mandela for his contributions for the liberation of the people of South Africa from apartheid regime.
In her presentation, Amb. Minicent Jack, stated that Nelson Mandela devoted his life to the service of humanity, as a human right lawyer, a prisoner of conscience, an international peacemaker and the first democratically elected president of the free South Africa. She explained that the UN General Assembly declared 18 in July “Nelson Mandela International Day,” in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of Peace and freedom.
The General Overseer of the Liberation Power Ministries, Rev Stephen Odede and wife, had earlier thanked the International Organisation of Advocates for Global Peace and Development (IOAGPD) for the recognition and the honour done to him and his wife.

Rivers Judiciary Denies Issuing Court Order Stopping SOLAD from Swearing in RSCSC Members
The Rivers State Judiciary has denied a media report claiming that Justice Frank Onyiri of the State High Court issued an injunction order restraining the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from inaugurating the newly appointed members of the Rivers State Civil Service Commission (RSCSC).
In a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar in charge of litigation at the High Court, Menenen Poromon (Esq), the state Judiciary disassociated itself from the report, describing it as malicious and fabricated.
The statement emphasized that the report was a falsehood and a misrepresentation of what transpeared in the court.
Poromon clarified that no such order was issued by Justice Onyiri or any other judge of the High Court of the state and urged the public to disregard the information, as it lacked any iota of truth.
The statement however advised the public to verify any information concerning the state Judiciary directly from the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of the State, to avoid spreading of misinformation.
