N’Delta Bishops Pray For Success Of General Elections
The Association of
Niger Delta Bishops has ended a three-day prayer conference in Yenagoa for the success of the 2015 general elections.
The conference tagged, ‘’The Hand of God’’, was attended by over 50 bishops, 30 archbishops and other clergymen from different denominations in the South-South zone.
The conference witnessed intercessory prayers for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the general elections, peace and unity in Nigeria.
In an interview with newsmen, Bishop Edet Mfon, Secretary-General of the association, said the prayer conference was necessitated by the situation in the country.
He called on all Nigerians to work for the peaceful conduct of the elections.
“Every child of voting age should collect his or her voter card to exercise his or her franchise; vote credible leaders, “ the bishop said.
He also called on candidates contesting elections to obey the rules of the game so as to ensure free and fair polls.
