Rotary Promises More Attention On Water, Sanitation
The Rotary Club of
Port Harcourt, District 9140, has promised to focus on water and sanitation in the forthcoming Rotary year.
The incoming president of the club, Rotarian Frank Eni, who disclosed this during a courtesy call on the General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Mr. Celestine Ogolo, also said that the campaign for polio eradication will be intensified.
Rotarian Eni said that the club would pay regular visits to markets and schools to ensure proper hygiene by providing them with water and toilets.
He said Rotary activities for this year would be done mainly in the rural areas, stressing that in line with this year’s theme, to lighten up the society members were encouraged to show exemplary behaviour by their actions and behaviours and commended the management of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC) for giving the club the publicity it deserves and urged for it to be sustained.
Responding, the General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Mr. Celestine Ogolo, congratulated Rotorian Frank Eni for his forth-coming induction and expressed the hope that he would build upon the legacy of his predecessors.
Ogolo also described the visit as a confirmation of the existing partnership between the club and the corporation, assuring that the corporation would continue to give the club the necessary publicity it deserves.
The General Manager said that the corporation believes in service and will continue to give its best services to the society.
He also said that, the corporation would not be deterred from its professional duties as a result of the recent robbery attack of the corporation and commended the state government for keeping faith with the management.
