Business Activities Resume At PH Computer Village
Business activities are back to full swing at the computer village on Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway in Port Harcourt.
Some dealers who spoke with our reporter, Wednesday, said that after the Yuletide holidays, it took them upto two weeks to start normal sales.
According to them, all old stock are still intact due to the low patronage last Christmas.
They said that market performance this year may be better if things did not change.
One handset dealer, Ihuoma Amadi, noted that she has started making profit on resumption of sales operations this year.
She said that they normally record good patronage from the people due to the strategic location of the place near the MTN main office in Port Harcourt.
On the issue of selling substandard products, she said that such was not practised in the place, as they have taskforce that monitors their products.
Amadi explained that “China Phones” are not substandard, but that they were built by the manufacturers to meet the need of those who cannot afford expensive phones.
The traders have re-echoed the need to be relocated to a permanent site as to enable dealers import wares at their capacity.
It would be recalled that the computer/cellphone dealers in this market had sometime last year, called on the Rivers State Government to relocate them to a better site in order to enable them trade in a more relaxed environment.
