Yuletide: FAAN Assures Air Travellers Of Seamless Facilitation
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) yesterday assured air travellers of faultless passenger facilitation at all airports during the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
General Manager, Public Affairs of FAAN, Mr. Yakubu Dati gave the pledge known while speaking with aviation correspondents at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Dati said that all relevant staff in airport operations would be kept at alert, to ensure flawless operations throughout the festive periods.
According to him, staff of the Aviation Security and Fire Rescue and Safety Departments would also be kept on alert during the periods.
“Most of the airport terminals in the country have already been remodelled, making provision for the expansion and modernisation of terminal facilities.
“In addition, modern security and safety equipment such as x-ray, baggage and 3-D screening machines, CCTV and walk-through metal detectors, have been installed at the airports, “ he said.
The General Manager noted that the authority wishes to encourage air travellers to complement these efforts by making early travel plans during the yuletide period.
He advised intending air travellers to book their flights early, to avoid patronising touts, saying, “they should leave home early on days they intend to travel so that they can conclude their check-in formalities well ahead of scheduled boarding times“.
Dati said passengers should also avoid carry-on banned items to avoid delays during facilitation.
