TUC Seeks Partnership On ICT Training
The Rivers State Chapter of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), says it is seeking for partners to enable it develop and deploy its on-line Computer-based Training (CBT), using the internet and audio/visuals presentation.
The State Chairman, of the union, Comrade Chika Onuegbu said this while deliveriny an address at an event in Port Harcourt recently.
He said that the technology was already in existence but the congress lacked funds to float it, hence, the need for the partnership.
Onuegbu believes that the CBT is the future and the latest technology, adding that that is part of the reasons to key into the project.
He claimed that their website rank was among the best in the country due to the high volume of information and materials on labour employment matters.
The TUC boss, announced that the development had attracted much commendation, saying, there is the need to push harder as to sustain the tempo.
He explained that the system had reduced to its barest minimum the cumbersomeness in handling labour-related matters, as the rite can be accessed by operators from any part of the world.
According to him, it can also enhance research work, as well, as enrich people’s knowledge on labour matters, adding that current labour issues can be downloaded from the system.
However, he has traced part of its robust achievements to the introduction of the IT system, while calling on members and others to avail themselves of the opportunity of ICT training.
