Kegites Commend Amaechi CARNIRIV Successful
Members of the Kegites Club in Rivers State have commended Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the Rivers State Tourism Development Agency (RSTDA), for the successful hosting of CARNIRIV 2012 which was witnessed by a tumultuous crowd and attracted hordes of investors to the state.
Speaking on behalf of the members, the chairman, organising committee, Kegites Club participation in CARNIRIV 2012, LSF Joshua Iwerima, said by organising the cultural festival, the state government is committed to the promotion of the culture of the people as well as promote tourism and attract investments.
He said Kegites is about promoting the African culture so they decided to participate in the festival to add cultural spice and variety to the Carnival. According to him, their presence in the cultural fiesta depicts African culture and the black race in Rivers State.
Iwerima noted that Kegites Club International, Rivers State Chapter of Fellows is supremous Joly-Joly has large membership which cuts across all the higher institutions in the state as well as fellows. He disclosed that even the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engr Tele Ikuru is a chief in the Kegites Club.
He also stated that the organisation intends to have its maiden lecture series here in Port Harcourt to enlighten the public on the aims and objectives of the organisation which is concerned with the promotion of the African culture and welfare of its members.
