Hauwei Partners Visafone On New CDMA Smartphone
Hauwei Technologies Nigeria, in collaboration with Visafone, last Friday unveiled a new Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) smartphone into the Nigerian market.
Speaking at the launch of the “Ascend C8655” CDMA smartphone in Lagos, Mr David Pan, President of Huawei, said that the new smartphone presented users an excellent device with an unforgettable experience.
Pan said that computer penetration in Nigeria was just four per cent, which implied that about six million people have access to computer.
‘’The Ascend C8655 is to increase the level of computer penetration in Nigeria, since it does everything that a computer can do. It will improve internet experience in Nigeria.
‘’Our vision is to enrich life through communications, by focusing on challenges and needs faced by customers, and we are determined to assist Nigeria bridge the gap between it and the developed countries,’’ he said.
According to him, Huawei is aware of competition in the industry, hence ýt has loaded the phone with a wide array of features and made it affordable.
Mr Jim Ovia, Chairman of Visafone, said that though there were smartphones in the Nigerian market, there might not be quality data access on such handsets.
Ovia said that Visafone was collaborating with Huawei to ensure that Ascend C8655 smartphone was enhanced with fast internet services.
He said that Visafone was in Nigeria to support the local economy and enpower the populace, as there would be business chains that would generate employment for the teeming populace.
‘’Visafone is here to impact positively on the lives of the populace by providing them affordable and reliable products,’’ he said.
