‘e-Transact’ll Promote NIPOST Services’
The deputy Postmaster General of Nigeria Mr. Yashim Bitiyong has said that the introduction of the e-Transact system to the services of the Nigerian Postal Services (NIPOST) will promote its service delivery.
Bitiyong said this recently while addressing NIPOST staff over the Central Bank of Nigerian’s cashless economy in Abuja.
He noted that the system would enhance the CBN’s cashless policy initiative, adding that it will operate on cashless basis using e-Tranzact electronic payment platform.
According to him, the scheme will provide a range of world-class e-payment solutions that offer card holders secure convenient and discount services.
About 3,000 dealers who are into the system, said that it is well secured and was huge leverage in the area of business transaction.
The Tide gathered that the e-Tranzact is a one-Time dynamic PIN generated through the cardholder’s mobile phone or web account, which will give authorization before any transaction can be made.
Group Head, Business Development of e-Tranzact, Mr. Adeyemi Adeyemo, said his company will partner NIPOST on the scheme.
Adeyemo, noted that the partnership will give cardholders access to e-payment services anytime and anywhere all over the country.
The Tide also learnt that NIPOST has up to 1,500 outlets nationwide and the planned partnership with e-Tranzact will bring e-payment services – closer to the people.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government had sometime last year, through the Central Bank of Nigeria announced the cashless economy initiative.
