Rivers FRSC Embarks On Park To Park Rally
The Rivers State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has embarked on motor park to motor park rally within Port Harcourt and its environs.
The public Enlightenment Officer of the Corps, Nnenna Ugumba, who dropped the hint in a telephone interview with The Tide recently, said the rally was to enlightened drivers and passengers on the need to observe safety on the road during this period of the year.
Mrs. Ugumba said the rally which started early this month had its campaign at Trans Amadi slaughter, Rumuokoro and other areas, pointing out that the corps had also arranged a special patrol in order to beef up the exercise.
According to her, the rally was also used to monitor the activities of the drivers and passengers at the various motor parks, stressing that because of its importance, all ranks and file of the corps are involved in the exercise.
She emphasised that the corps during the rallies educate the drivers and passengers on what they should do at all times during this rush period and always obey safety rules and regulations in order not to be a victim.
Mrs. Ugwumba advised all road users to take it easy during this ‘ember’ period, and called on all hands to be on deck to safe life through individual commitment.
The exercise is expected to end next year February, the Corps Enlightenment Officer disclosed.
