Amaechi Gets Kudos For Road Dualisation
The Omerelu Community in Ikwerre Local Government area of Rivers State has commended the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, over the dualisation of Port Harcourt – Owerri Road, with a view to easing the traffic difficulty experienced in the past.
The commendation was made in a show of gratitude by youths in the area, through their leader, Comrade Ndubuisi Amadi Bobby over the weekend.
He noted that before the dualisation the road was a sorry sight due to its dilapidated condition, saying that the magnanimity of Amaechi-led government towards the road dualisation project is an eloquent testimony of his love and concern for the down trodden man.
Prior to the dualisation project, the road was an escape route for armed robbers who would always manovuave their ways easily with their motor bikes, due to bad roads, he opined, pointing out that now the Police are on round- the – clock checks on the road due to its present improved condition.
He further explained that the street light along the dualised road will go a long way in checking the activities of criminals in the area.
The Community Youth leader, also called on the state government to place security alert on the road to ensure that the street lights were not vandalised and tampered with by those he described as enemies of progress.
