Rivers SSG Sets Agenda For Legislature, Today
The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Hon. Magnus Abe will today deliver a public lecture on the topic “The Legislature: A Tool for Improving The Lives of the Citizenry.”
The lecture, which is hosted by Professionals for Responsible Governance (PRG), a non-governmental organisation, is targeted at providing a prism for assessing how the legislature, as an arm of government, can impact positively on the lives of the citizens of any given society.
Hon. Magnus Abe, who served as a Minority Leader in the State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2003 and Commissioner for Information from 2003-2007, the organisers say, has been chosen to deliver the lecture based on his pedigree.
The session is expected to be chaired by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tonye Harry, while the State Deputy Governor, Egnr Tele Ikuru, is the Guest of Honour.
The lecture holds at the Auditorium of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Port Harcourt at 11.00am.
