The Tide NUJ Gets New Exco
The Tide Chapter of the Ni
geria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has inaugurated a new executive. The new exco has Mr Felix Okogbule as chairman, Ike Wigodo (vice Chairman), Amadi Akujobi (Secretary), Tonye Orabere (Assistant Secretary), Kinika Mpi (Financial Secretary) and Cynthia (Treasurer).
Inaugurating the new executive, the Rivers State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr Oparak Dokubo who presided over the election, tasked the new exco to show commitment to duties in line with the NUJ constitution.
Opaka urged the new exco to consolidate on their past performance in their renewed mandate and bring the chapter to greater professional heights.
He also thanked The Tide chapter for their assistance to the state chapel especially in accommodation and other sundry concerns.
In his post inaugural speech, The Tide chapel chairman, Mr Felix Okogbule who thanked the state council of the NUJ for supervising the election, also commended members of The Tide chapel of the NUJ for the confidence reposed in the exco.
The chairman re-stated the commitment of the exco to the welfare of members and would do its best to ensure the well-being of members.
He also assured that the union would work with management to address issues concerning members.
In attendance at the event were the state Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Mrs Lilian Okonkwo, and the vice chairman, Mrs Calista Ezeaku.
