C’River Wins Best Mathematics Student Award
As part of the devel
opment strides of Governor Liyel Imoke-led administration, especially in the educational sub-sector, Cross River State is said to have produced the best Mathematics student at the just concluded National Junior Engineer, Technicians and Scientist (JETS) Competition, held recently at the Federal Ministry of Education Conference Centre, Abuja.
The state was represented by seven students at the competition, four of whom participated in the inter-state quiz competition between ten states, where Cross River State had a tie with Ondo State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to progress to the first stage and semi-finals respectively.
In the Individual Subject Category, Master Joshua Jacob, of Government Secondary School, Uwanse, won on Gold medal in Mathematics and silver in Physics. While Bill Utsu, and wisdom Warrie of Government Technical College, Mayne Avenue, won Silver in the National Team Project.
In the same vein, the Free Choice Project Category saw Catherine Joseph of Lightway Academy, winning the Bronze medal.
Receiving the Cross River State JETS Team at the Education Board Grounds, Michael Ani Secretariat Complex, Calabar, the Executive Secretary, Technical Education Board, Rev. Margret Ene-Ita, lauded the Imoke-led administration.
