RSUST Students Make Case For e-library
As the clamour for Infor
mation and Communication Technology (ICT) takes centre stage of almost all the sectors of the economy, students in Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Port Harcourt, have called for a total e-library in a bid to maintain its lead in the academic sector.
The president, Law Students association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) RSUST chapter, Comrade Endurance Okanezi, made the call during the inauguration of the 2014/2015, in Port Harcourt Tuesday.
He said the need became necessary after considering the importance of ICT in the development of education.
Okanezi told newsmen that if RSUST could involve a total e-library, that the school would be second to none in the country.
According to him, the best way to approach education issue now is through the internet, saying that analogue system is phasing out.
The LAWSAN leader, also lauded RSUST management over its determination to maintain the e-campus that is now existing in the institution.
He was particular about commencing the e-library at the faculty of law, going by its sensitive nature.
He was of the view that since the faculty was exposed to many areas of academic endeavour, e-library would command a world-class respect in the campus (RSUST).
Meanwhile, the Dean of Law, RSUST, Dr Nlerum Okogbule, charged the new LAWSAN Executive to live above board and introduce new initiatives to the system.
The legal icon, also hammered on dedication to studies, while urging them to develop hard skin over challenges in order to get to the apex of their vocation.
