Youth Assures Of Peace, Dev In Rebisi
The President of Rumuwoji Youth Solidarity Movement (RYSM), Mr Elele Loveday Chukwu, has pledged to maintain peace in the community, and urged cooperation among the people of Rumuwoji in Rebisi, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
Chukwu who made the pledge in his acceptance speech shortly after he was elected last Sunday as the Youth President of Rumuwoji Solidarity Movement, said the new executive would not succeed if the people and youths of the community did not join hands to rebuild the community.
The youth president commended the people for finding him worthy to serve and assured that no member of the executive would short.
He appealed to youths to come take their places stating that the new executive would accept those who have gone astray and integrate them in the affairs of the community.
Chukwu also cautioned members of the executives to work for the development of the community and youths advancement.
“We are in a new era and every member of the executive most work for the interest of the community and the development of the youths”, he said.
Earlier, the immediate past President of Rumuwoji Youth Solidarity, Mr Kinikanwo Oluogwu commended the youths for exhibiting maturity during and after the election and said the peaceful conduct of the election indicated that peace has returned to the community.
He advised those who had not accepted the wave of change in the community to embrace the new executive for the continue peace in the community and declared, by the constitution of the movement, I shall officially hand over the mantle of leadership in the next meeting of the youth”.
