Minister Commissions JAMB CBT Centre In Delta
The Joint Admission and
Matriculation Board (JAMB) has established and furnished a Computer Based Test (CBT) centre in Delta, the Supervising Minister of Education, Mr Nyesom Wike, has said.
Wike stated this last Friday while inaugurating a new JAMB office complex in Asaba, Delta.
He said that the CBT comprised of three classrooms of 120 sitting capacity each, a server room and offices for members of staff.
He described the complex as a very proactive step and a phenomenal achievement in Delta, and commended JAMB officials for the project.
He urged JAMB to upgrade its offices outside its headquarters to CBT status to enable them discharge their services effectively stating that tax payers, parents and students would benefit from the centres, especially the people at the grassroots.
Wike urged the state governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, to provide at least one CBT centre in each local government area of the state.
Responding, the governor pledged that more than one CBT centre would be provided in each local government area of the state.
Represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare, the governor said that Delta was the second to inaugurate a CBT JAMB office in the country.
He said beyond public schools, seven private schools with CBT centres were already in place each with 120 sitting capacity.
